Background
Capgemini, a world leader in IT services (80,000 employees), optimised its own analysis and accounting management system against a backdrop of regular external growth and corporate acquisitions around the world.
Challenge
To bring the Oracle E-Business Suite-based core model (benchmark processes and data, accounting, operational and analytical reporting) defined by Capgemini Group to life by deploying it in the new subsidiaries.
• Taking into account the cultural, legal and technical particularities of each new subsidiary
• Enhancing the core model when local particularities could interest the entire Group
• Keeping the model consistent
• Integrating the new system alongside other local applications (e.g. cash management, paperless supplier invoice processing)
• Providing a complete, operational solution within short lead-times to the local and Group financial departments
Countries where deployed: UK, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany
The Insyco solution
Insyco ensured a successful rollout by:
• Presenting the core solution to the local teams and financial departments
• Gap analysis: setting up working groups with local users and performing gap analysis on local processes versus Group processes
• Defining an enhanced core solution in consultation with the Group
• Collecting configuration data from local users
• Drafting technical specifications of additional custom developments
• Coordinating technical development projects carried out in India
• Coordinating with the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) in Poland
• Performing acceptance testing of the integration of the custom developments
• Completely configuring the target system, particularly Oracle Project Accounting
• Recovering legacy data and designing the switchover plan
• Validating the consolidated operational and analytical report
• Training key users
• Go-live and support for closing of accounts
There are many advantages when a subsidiary is well integrated into the Group solution:
• Consolidated, simplified reporting
• Process harmonisation
• Cost reduction
